The power of spices

More than just ginger

The power of spices

Ginger is central to our DZJiNG mixes. Along with lime, it is the common thread of our story. Ginger is essential for the powerful kick with which it replaces alcohol, and the lime provides an acidity with beautiful aromas of juice and zest. But equally essential to depth and spiciness are the spices we use to flavor and impart complexity to our blends.

Whereas ginger is known for its medicinal properties, many do not know that a lot of spices have functional properties as well.

Cinnamon – Subtly warming

Cinnamon brings a soft, warm touch to our Classic and Intense blends. This spice has been used for centuries in various cuisines and traditions. Traditionally, cinnamon has been associated with digestive support and blood sugar regulation. In our mixes, it mainly plays a role as a flavor enhancer with a subtle background effect.

Star anise – Complex and aromatic

The distinct, anise-like flavor of star anise adds depth to our Classic and Intense ginger blends. This spice is traditionally used for its relieving effects on the respiratory and digestive systems. In the context of DZJiNG, star anise contributes to the refined character of the blend.

Clove – Powerful support

Clove has an intense, slightly pungent flavor and is a familiar seasoning in many cultures. It is known for its high antioxidant content and is traditionally used to support digestion and relieve mild discomfort. In our Classic and Intense blends, clove enhances the flavor structure and adds an earthy nuance that contrasts nicely with the freshness of ginger.

Cardamom – Fresh and floral

Cardamom adds a fresh, slightly floral note to the Classic and Intense blend. This spice is appreciated worldwide for its unique flavor profile, as well as for its soothing effect on the stomach and fresh effect on breath. In DZJiNG, cardamom gives a sophisticated elevator to the whole, balancing the warmth of cinnamon and cloves with the spicy freshness of ginger.

The spiciness of DZJiNG provides that extra dimension that makes your non-alcoholic aperitif sublimely complex.

Mixed with hot water, the spices come out even more, so your dose of DZJiNG may also be smaller.
